On March 13, 2018, Co-executive directors Motoko and Mina welcomed the Global Network Week Tokyo module for 60 MBA students from all around the world under a beautiful spring sky.
The Japanese culture experience started with a lecture by Motoko and Mina to give a broad understanding of Japan and the Japanese people. After the lecture, the group moved to Kamakura to experience zen meditation at one of the most prestigious zen temples, the Engakuji temple where the plum flowers were in full bloom.
Priest Ichido Uchida of the Engakuji temple lead the zen meditation session and the Q&A session that followed. Many questions on various topics came from the participants, and through this experience they had a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Priest Ichido Uchida for always welcoming us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We would also like to thank all of the staff at ICS as well as the volunteer guides that made the Kamakura experience so special for all participants.
We look forward to meeting many more guests to Japan through our Japanese culture experiences!
