On March 3rd, the day of the Hinamatsuri, WaNavi Japan held its Hinamatsuri Workshop at Shounji Temple in Hiroo. Tucked away at the end of the shopping road in Hiroo, the Shounji temple is a tranquil zen temple surrounded by beautiful gardens, letting you forget you are in the city.
Families from all around the world enjoyed learning about Hinamatsuri, Girl’s Peach Fesitval through Kamishibai, games, and crafts. Following the workshop, they were invited to a special tea ceremony hosted by the temple head master, Mr. Iwasaki and his family.
We would like to thank all the wonderful families who came out to celebrate Hinamatsuri together. We would love to celebrate other seasonal festivities as well, so please stay in touch!
We would also like to thank Mr. Katsuyuki Onishi, Chairman of the Zenkoku Terakoya Network for his continuous support.
Lastly, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Iwasaki, Head Priest of the Shounji Temple, and his family for generously sharing the beautiful zen temple and the art of tea ceremony with the international and Japanese families.
